Footwear Advice & Fitting
VSo what’s new for 2020 and what are my favourites? Spring/summer colour tones this year are brighter than ever before. Warm tones, such as corals and metallics as well as cool tones such as navy and pink.
Due to popular demand, I have continued the Vionic slipper range. For ladies, Vionic Indulge Relax (velcro fastening, great for bunions, pink or leopard print). Much cooler than Vionic’s usual slippers and excellent support across the top of the foot. Both are suitable for Vegans and machine-washable.

Thankfully, high heels are no longer as popular, women want comfort and style now. Sales of loafers, slip-ons and lace-ups are increasing year-on-year. Again, I’ve increased the range to meet demand. These include 2 loafers, Vionic Honor Virginia in a dark blue leather (wide fit) and Vionic Chill Bibiana, a suede loafer available in 3 colours (med/wide fit).
For smart workwear, there’s a selection of black lace-ups and slip-ons such as Vionic Magnolia Gianna.
If you want a more casual look, sneakers are right on-trend and I have both slip-on styles and lace-ups. Slip-ons include Vionic Sky Roza (wide fit – navy), Vionic Splendid Midi and Vionic Brisk Aimmy( med/wide – charcoal or navy).
Trainers are always a useful addition to a spring/summer wardrobe so there’s the return of the Vionic Brisk Miles in indigo and lavender, the Vionic Fresh Joey, a casual trainer with soft leather and breathable perforations sold well so it is returning in Dusty pink. The wide fit, soft leather and deeper toe-box are helpful for ladies with a wide forefoot, bunions, hammer toes, etc. Other new trainers include Vionic Sunny Chantelle, Vionic Sky Aliana, (bungee ties) and Vionic Brisk Maya.
There’s also the return of the lace-up espidrille, Vionic Sunny Hattie. This year it is available in dark blue and cherry red.
Finally, Vionic do a vast range of sandals and flip flops. This year colours include bronze, red, champagne, navy, purple, black, brown and coral red. Many are wide fit (E). Old favourites are back, such as Islander, Pacific Naples, High Tide, Farra and Amber. A new and supportive sandal is the Vionic Rest Harissa Sandal , available in black or mocha. I like these because they are very supportive and the leather is soft. It is my top recommendation for this season.

In my range of leather and suede Strive women’s footwear, metallics, coral and sparkles are the colours for spring/summer 2020. Strive have brought back our old favourites, the toe-ring sandals, Strive Capri , (5 colours) Strive Java (3 colours) and Strive Colorado (navy). Strive Maui, their toe-post sandal is also back and the coral shell option is fabulous! For a more supportive sandal, I have Strive Kona (3 colours) and Strive Montana (navy) again.
Please note, the Strive Montana and Strive Colorado are discontinued, so if these are you favourites, order early in the season to avoid disappointment.
Strive are continuing with their loafer, Strive Milan introduced last year. It is now a best-seller and is available in All Black, Black and White or Anthracite.
Most orthotic footwear are for women but I stock a limited range of Vionic Men’s Footwear including flip flops and walking sandals.
Vionic and Strive are recognised by the American Podiatric Association as being good for your feet. Vionic come in standard or wide fit and Strive come in Standard fit. Both have a biomechanical footbed which can help with aches, pain and posture. They are particularly good for over-pronation. Vionic do a few sandals suitable for Vegans – currently Vionic Amber and Vionic Farra.
Women’s sizes range from 4-8 but I can order sizes 3 and 9 and half sizes on request from some suppliers (Strive)
Mens’ sizes range from 7-11. Sometimes I can order larger sizes on request. (Vionic)
